Rockin' O'Connell's

We just had our first show with Tre! Yes, it's true, as he so plainly put it: his "Myra's Hands cherry has been popped." And he did a great job (and so did everyone else). We had a lot of fun, and were really happy to be playing with such good bands. I'm really bummed that I had to leave early and couldn't hang out and watch any of the band's personally (I'll be 21 next month, then that won't be an issue! >:O), but I know the others enjoyed their shows a lot. It's great to be gigging again and working toward something fun and awesome like performing.

Our next gig is this Saturday night at the Whisky a Go Go!! Holy shit, I'm excited, as is the whole band. We've all been working really hard to get this going and getting the bus going, so I'm glad it's finally almost here. The best part is I don't have 2 papers due after next weekend, like I did after O'Connell's. That's a big plus.

Gigs & Pics

We've got four gigs coming up in the next two weeks, but I wanted to take the time to mention that our new band photos are up on the myspace and they came out GREAT! If you're not already planning on it, make sure you try and come out to at least one of the gigs this month.

Upcoming Shows

So, we are going to be getting out of the studio and on to live shows soon! Right now our first show is set for O'Connells Bar Located at 1310 Morena Blvd San Diego CA. We are working with Another Zeke Production a local production company(thanks Ziggy!). We want to pack the place with friends since the more people we bring the better the chance is we will be invited back! 21+ so bring your ID!
We are talking to the Whiskey a Go-Go right now trying to set up a March 20th date! If we do get this date we may try to book a party bus to take people up and bring people back to San Diego! First Recording Days

Today was the end of day 2 in the studio! What a day it was too. We missed all but the last 3 minutes of the Super Bowl for it. Keith laid out all the drum tracks yesterday and today. He's a motherfucking badass, might I add, because he is sick as a motherfucker. I'm on day 14, going on 15, of being really sick. And poor Keith went and got sick too on Thursday, just 2 days before we started recording. LAME. I mean, the car ride up to and back from the studio was crazy hectic with the two of us coughing our lungs out. It was funny because Tina and Tre kept drinking Airborne and Emergen-C to protect themselves from our germs. But despite the sickness, Keith fucking kicked ass on his tracks, so I'm really excited about the next recording session, when we'll record guitar. We've been documenting on video our journeys for the last couple days, so someone'll probably post that up at some point, or link to youtube or something.

Welcome to the new Myra's Hands blog!

Less than two weeks until we start recording! February should be an interesting month for me, as I'm starting my school semester this Thursday and we'll be recording every weekend during February. As awesome as it will be to be hangin' with the band and playing almost constantly, it's gonna be a son of a bitch to get all my school work done. But everyone's busy, so we'll all be in the same boat. Keith, Tre, and I are SUPER BUMMED that we're gonna be recording on Super Bowl Sunday. How the fuck did that happen? What we won't do for music, I swear. I just feel sorry for Keith since he's planning on doing most of the drum tracks that weekend. Either way, I'll be keeping a close eye on the TV every time I have a chance ;) Either way, it's gonna be an epic weekend.
